Shenyang steam locomotive museum has been built by Shenyang Railway Branch Bureau and Shenyang Botanical Garden, based on original Shenyang Railway steam Museum hides 15historical locomotives and 3duplicated historical locomotives. It is the biggest steam locomotive museum in our country.

The museum collects and stores 9countries locomotives; including America, Germany, Japan, Czech, Poland, Romania, England, China and former Soviet Union. The model BDI and model PL locomotive that America produced in 1907 is one of the oldest steam locomotives in the world at present; the model SL 7 locomotive that our museum collects was made by Japan Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. In 1943,the designing speed id 130 kilometer per hour, and it is the only one that exists among the 12.The model JS locomotive that was made by our country in 1957 and the model GJ locomotive that was made in 1960 are both designed by us after the founding of our People¡¯s Republic, they have written a brilliant page in the development history of China railway locomotives.

The steam locomotive that hides in the museum witnesses the developing history of world railway, civilization of industrial revolution and at the same time, it also records the brilliant course that the Chinese nation find unbearable to recall, the history of humiliation that Chinese people constantly strove to become stronger. Age and history has entrusted the task to the research, viewing and admiration of locomotives themselves, the museum possesses deep historical significance and historical value.
